Creatures

From Gigantic Wiki

Creatures, also known as minions, is a type of non-playable characters in Gigantic. Their purpose is to help player controlled heroes in the match.

Overview

Creatures are the beasts which can be summoned by heroes on power circles. Their prime role is to guard the circle from enemy heroes and harvest power orbs once they are spawned, and doing so faster than heroes themselves. However, there are exceptions with some creatures not harvesting power, and there are also restrictions on where and how much heroes can summon them. Creatures also wield special passive, environmental abilities, designated by their families (types); these abilities give advantages and bonuses to their team.

Despite having huge health pool, much larger than heroes do, creatures are still vulnerable and can be killed with a coordinated effort of an enemy team. By doing so it can receive more power and make its guardian to get closer to rampage state. Thus summoning a creature requires careful planing and attention.

Summoning

Heroes can summon any creature on team affiliated and neutral power circles. Restricted circles let players summon only Ancient Obelisks, and thus making them harvest power by themselves.

At first hero summons a young creature. It costs nothing to do it, but there is limited amount of tries, depending on family or species. It takes about 3 seconds for baby creature to fully spawn, at that moment player would see a dark silhouette with a timer. The creature is especially vulnerable at this stage and must be protected by heroes until fully spawned.

Killing young enemy creatures will give 10 in the Power Race, just like killing an enemy hero.

Upgrading

As heroes gain FOCUS
Special resource that is accumulated and stored throughout every match, and can be used to unleash a FOCUS ABILITY, or upgrade young creatures to powerful adults.
Focus requires to build up FOCUS CHARGES (maximum 3) before it can be used. They can be accumulated by dealing damage to enemies, healing allies, taking damage, and sometimes after being defeated and sent to the Airship.
focus
in the course of the match, they have a choice to use it in the battle against enemies, or use it to upgrade the creature which was summoned previously. An adult beast is significantly bigger, sturdier and more dangerous than baby version, and possess even more powerful abilities, not to mention even faster harvesting of power orbs. The amount of needed focus charges varies between species.

It takes about 20 seconds for creature to “grow up”, and just like in summoning, it must be protected until fully spawned.

Killing an adult enemy creature will give 20 towards the Power Race, the same quantity as a harvesting power from a power circle.

Loadout

Player is able to choose and “equip” in the loadout, before the match, 3 types of creatures. When hero stands on the Power Circle they'll be able to summon or upgrade one of them, per circle.

At first player has a set of 3 default creatures, one from each of 3 common families: a cerberus, a bloomer and a cyclops. To use different creatures player should purchase them in game's shop with or . Some creatures are also included in content packs and bundles, which let player save big while purchasing multiple items.
